Shallow Bering Strait: its maximum depth is less than sixty meters, and an average of about forty-five meters. Without a doubt, in the era of the last glaciation there was dry land, for the world ocean level was lower than the current minimum of 110 meters. True, the banks of the strait could "grow", such as the coast of the Gulf of Bothnia, as the growing level of Ocean associated with the melting of glaciers. Recall that some geologists believed, though nowadays the Bering Strait - the narrowest in the whole of its geological history, and the first distance was more between Northeast Asia and Northwest America than now.
