As in the Russian language, there are three degrees of comparison of adjectives in English: positive, comparative and superlative.
For example, delicious - delicious - the most delicious
In some monosyllabic and disyllabic adjectives (ending in - r or - y) degrees of comparison are formed by adding to the positive form of the suffix - er for the comparative form and - est for superior (this form is used with an article the).
Cheap - cheaper - t he cheapest
Happy - happier - the happiest
